A Fresh Start

I am writing this as the first of what I hope will be many regular blogs, as I launch my updated website.

I will start, then, by thanking Lisa and Reece of activ Digital Marketing, for taking on this website and for coming up with its new look. I know I will enjoy working with them and hope that with their support I will be able to keep my website refreshed: something I let slide when I had to do it all myself as well as the “day job”.

As part of this transformation, I needed to move my email away from my previous host as well, so also many thanks to Ash Durant of InterCounty Computers, who transferred me across to Microsoft for Business and seamlessly moved my email over at the same time.  A job I could “almost” do, but which terrified me.  Ash turned up early for our appointment and had painlessly completed the migration by the time he was actually due to arrive!

With this website, I hope to reach clients who want what I have to offer: top-quality Excel training at all levels, as well as training in related products such as Power Query for data transformation and Power BI for data analysis and visualisation.  I have a lifetime of spreadsheet use, having started with the very first spreadsheet program, VisiCalc, within a month or two of its launch in 1979.  I have always loved the combination of simplicity and complexity offered: simple rules coming together to achieve powerful results.

Over recent years, Excel has evolved enormously, with the introduction of Microsoft 365 and its many new features.  Tasks that used to be very difficult have been greatly simplified by these, so it is important to keep your knowledge up to date.  I have taught Excel from its early days right through to the latest releases, and also offer training in Power Query and Power BI.  My training style is informal and engaging; I foster an environment where learners are happy to ask questions and experiment, and I try to ensure that everybody on a course comes away enthused by the possibilities that we have explored together.

There are a lot of Excel websites out there, and a good number of trainers too.  However, I am the very best at being me so, if you think I could bring value to your business, get in touch to find out more about how I can help you to Excel.
